EnablePoint Corporation goes national with the successful completion of an Alarm Management and Alarm Tracking software implementation in Collier County, Florida.

Naples, Florida: The completion of a comprehensive alarm tracking and registration software system at the Collier County Sheriff’s office is being publicly announced today. The implementation marks the first Florida account for EnablePoint Corporation, a Livonia, Michigan based firm.

Most counties and cities report false alarms and the management of an increasing number of alarm systems has become an issue for growing communities. Statistics show that over 95% of all alarm dispatches are false. Collier County is using the new software product to address these growing concerns.

False Alarm Billing and Alarm Management Tracking software, nicknamed FAB, has been an offering of EnablePoint since 2001. The software quickly gained popularity within the state of Michigan, and in May of 2005, the firm took the product to a national False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) conference, where several clients quickly issued purchase orders for the system.

The Collier County Sheriff’s office implementation included the conversion of data from an older false alarm tracking system. The Sheriff’s office has taken advantage of the new interface abilities, which imports alarm data directly into the system from the county’s 911 emergency dispatch software.

EnablePoint has clients that count the last 365, 180, a fixed 12 month calendar, and by a calendar specific to the individual address. The company presents the product with an ordinance module that is built specific to the local ordinance of the jurisdiction.

Additional time savings in false alarm reduction efforts include the automatic generation of warning letters that are produced after the import, for the first instance of an alarm, the third, and any false alarm over the count of 5 (accompanied by a citation) in a 180 day period. A different letter is produced for an alarm owner depending on if the alarm is registered or not and the number of the alarm in the 180 day period.

The Collier County Sheriff’s office can now track alarm registrations more accurately, produce reports and letters for alarm systems about to expire, and most importantly continue its successful efforts to reduce false alarms in the county.
